About MarketApex.com

Our question

MarketApex.com was born out of a simple but powerful question: "What is the best options trade I could have made?" Answering that turned out to be anything but simple. It forced us to think carefully about how to measure trades, what data to use, and how to fairly compare results across thousands of contracts every single day.

Every trading day, option contract values rise and fall. By treating the current trading day as the pivot point, and assuming selling on that day, we can look backward in time to define different "buying windows." For example, a day trade means buying and selling the same day, an overnight trade means buying yesterday and selling today, and weekly trades mean buying two to five days before today's sell point.

We classify and calculate all possible trades this way, then rank them to reveal which trades performed best.

How We Do It

Trade data alone isn't enough. For many smaller or less active stocks, option trades might not even execute, leaving huge gaps in the picture of what was possible. That's why we rely on nanosecond-level quote data for every option contract across the market. Parsing that volume of data is intense, and we've had to make reasonable assumptions—for example, contracts closer to expiration generally show higher gains than those further out—but it's the only way to truly answer our core question.

Our Mission

We love the culture of WallStreetBets and the options trading community. Our goal is to make MarketApex a site that's not just about crunching numbers, but also a site that captures the spirit, creativity, and humor of retail trading culture.

At the end of the day, this site is for the traders, to try and bridge the data gap between retail traders and industry traders. Not quite a bloomberg terminal but still useful. But if not useful, at least fun! And, if at the end of the day, your options trading journey falls flat, you might be able to make some gains off our lego articles!

Who we are

We are retail options traders who have been part of the WallStreetBets community since BEFORE the gamestop fiasco and the explosive growth the subreddit has seen. Are we better traders than Warren Buffet? No... no we're not... but our trades ARE sometimes profitable, but mostly not. But we still love to talk about trades, strategize, and look at all the data the market has to offer.

For our WallStreetBets friends, we're a small team with limited resources we don't have the budget for consolidated feeds or OPRA-level real-time data. But we're scrappy, resourceful and passionate. Our site is built to work around the limitations of running a site like TradingView, but we're trying our best to provide a unique, transparent, and community-driven view of the options market.
